My thoughts on Beth and her death...

You know, there are people that said her character was annoying when she was introduced, but the fact that she was depressed and needed help I didn't think she was annoying. If anything, she was  needed help to deal with learning and facing the reality of there not being a cure for people turning into zombies. She may not have been the strongest at the beginning, but over time, with the help of her father, sister and the group, she got better and became stronger. In my opinion, she should've lived throughout this season and even next season, as there was a big character development with her going on in the 4th and 5th season, and I'm thinking to myself "This is great, they're finally expanding on her character."
She was someone, I thought needed to have a decent character development, and I think it ended to soon. They were going at a well pace, and things were going well, and then they killed her off. I don't know why they did that, especially when she was getting very interesting and I wanted to see her character grow and expand like the other characters. She still had potential as a character to grow.
With the whole Daryl and Beth relationship thing I've heard about, I don't know what would've happened there. I know that they helped each other out a lot in the season 4 episode and they would have become greater friends throughout the series and helped each other out more when necessary. She should've lived throughout this season, as it seems they just wasted a big character development arc that wasn't even at the peak yet.

Plus if we look back at the moment of and before she died, Dawn's gun was in her holster like all the police in her group, but being so close to Beth, could she have drawn her gun and put it between her and Beth and point it upwards to shoot her in the head? That my friend is BS, unless I missed something, which I could have. And why did they have Beth stab Dawn shoulder? If she was trying to kill her, which I think is what we're left to believe, why not her neck? Why not hug Dawn and when she hugs her back, she stabs her in the neck or head even?  The whole moment felt sloppy and rushed. It's also not just because I liked the character, but it just felt completely unnecessary and unlikely to happen in that moment. I am really tired of the new TV trend of killing off major characters for shock value. Why build a great character if you are just going to kill them when your ratings drop and you need something new? I think its a cheap plot devise and unless it is done respectful and meaningful way to the character, then it is just garbage.
If they were going to kill her off, at least maybe in the 6th season or 7th after we saw this great change in her character that we would've like to have seen. And if she would've died in one of those seasons instead of living throughout the whole series as some of the characters in the show probably will, give her a death that seemed more appropriate instead of a shocking death that was, in retrospect, very poorly done. Why would she have stabbed Dawn in the shoulder? She had to have known she could've gotten killed, she had more common sense than that. It seemed like the writing team or whoever was in charge of her death, really dropped the ball, but hey, I've now spoken my peace.
We'll miss Beth, as we've missed the other characters that died throughout the series. Also I don't know why they seem to kill off the character with the big spirit, like the character who has the most optimism and sees the bright side when others sees the dark, ugly side. She never gave up hope that the world to get better, and I would've liked to have seen one character, like Beth, to live at least until the shows last season, as for now, I don't know if they have someone like that now. They might, but I just can't think of one right now.

R.I.P. Beth Greene.
